Services and Qualities Guaranteed at K’s Translation Studio
My core principle is to build a positive relationship with the people I work with and to consider them as “teammates.”
As such, I will guarantee the following five services and qualities outlined below.
I understand that you may have concerns when requesting a commission for the first time. Therefore, I offer a free trial service (volume and deadline negotiable) for first-time customers. Please feel free to reach out to me regarding the matter.

01. Advanced Interview to Understand Customer Needs
There are a number of conditions for quality translations that are common to all projects, such as sentences that concisely convey the meaning of the source language and can also be read naturally in the target language. It goes without saying that I will provide works that fulfill these qualities. At the same time, I also understand that there are various individual needs that vary between customers on the way they wish translations to be handled.
Holding an interview prior to getting started on the work allows me to confirm the finer details of a project, such as the target audience, style and whether or not there are reference materials. Doing so helps me correctly understand your needs to prevent misunderstandings and discrepancies to the best of my abilities.
02. Adherence to the Rules
If you have materials that I should reference, such as a style guide, glossary of terms, memory data, or past editions, please provide them to me. After confirming how strictly the rules should be adhered to (without exception > use of only the glossary of terms > simple reference to only understand the context and main body of the text), I will deliver translations that fulfill those requirements.
03. Observation of the Deadline
As should be expected, I will meet the designated deadline.
However, if unforeseen situations arise in which I am hospitalized, get caught up in a natural disaster, etc. and cannot make the deadline, I will contact you immediately to consult with you on how to proceed.
04. Privacy Policy
Utmost care will be taken to ensure that the provided information and materials are not disclosed in any way.
As a way of showcasing my work experiences, I will release a brief summary of the field/contents of the projects I work on, but if you do not wish for anything to be released, please let me know in advance.
In addition, if I receive physical source materials (papers, etc.), I will return them as soon as possible after delivering the work. Digital data will be disposed of after a certain period.
05. Building a Positive Relationship with Customers
There are many people who are involved in a translation project – the translator, proof-reader, project manager, DTP, editor, and the final client. However, I do not believe that a “good product” depends on any one of those positions.
We are all teammates working toward the common goal of “creating a good product.” I promise to provide sufficient consideration so that every teammate can work comfortably without feeling stressed. To this end, I will respond quickly to correspondences or questions and will carry out my work with consideration to the processes that come before and after it. I will also inform you of any issues I notice that may affect the final product, even if it is unrelated to my specific task. Above all, I promise friendly services and a positive attitude throughout.
In this industry, it is rare to meet customers face-to-face. I believe that makes it all the more important to build a positive relationship so we can share a closer understanding of each other.
★★News★★
I have taken out the “Indemnity Liability Insurance for Freelancers” (commonly known as the “Benefit Plan”) from Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance. Please click here for details (Japanese only).
I will take every step necessary to prevent incidents that result in damage liabilities, but I hope this provides a measure of reassurance for the worst-case scenario.
